The scope of the project was the review and supervision the approved environmental impact assessment (EIA) reports of various development projects, which included the 1st and 2nd nuclear power plants project, the 1st and 2nd power generators of the 4th nuclear power plant electricity generation project, the 3rd phase of the Central Taiwan Science Park development project (Houli Science Park), the Tree Valley Park development modification project, the 4th phase of the 6th naphtha cracker expansion project of the Formosa Plastics Corporation, the 3rd naphtha cracker renovation and expansion project of the CPC Corporation, Taiwan, the Changhua Coastal Industrial Park development project, and the related development projects in the Taipei Port area. The project team assisted the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) to implement the “Environmental Impact Assessment Act” and to monitor the commitments concluded in the environmental impact assessment reports during each development stage in the construction and operation period. In order to monitor the effectiveness of the environmental impact assessment and to examine EIA commitments, the project team conducted quarterly on-site investigation and environmental monitoring. The surveillance committee meeting was held every three months to review and enhance the administrative performance.
